Personal Profile  

Carla Fedor has more than eleven years experience as a nurse working with persons with Developmental Disabilities.   Carla has a background in Psychiatric and Maternal/Child nursing.     

With the Continuum of Care Project, she coordinates several specialty clinics at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center and around the state of New Mexico.   She is involved in the UNM Ketogenic Diet Program for the treatment of epilepsy as coordinator, nurse case manager and family educator.   Carla is involved with a research grant to look at the effect of the Ketogenic Diet on bone health.

Ms. Fedor is a strong advocate for patient, family, and health practitioner education.   Carla believes that working in teams is in the best interest of all individuals, as this increases the necessary knowledge and options for providing optimum health.  

She has assisted and/or developed several training modules with the Continuum of Care Project for the New Mexico Department of Health/Long Term Services Division.    She provides education to nurses and direct care providers on many clinical topics including seizures, medications and Advanced Directives.
